Quantum atom optics and quantum information
Topic details
We investigate the motion and interactions of atoms cooled to less than a microKelvin above absolute zero. At these temperatures, the wave nature of atoms dominates, which gives rise to interesting effects, such as Bose-Einstein condensation. Furthermore we investigate the application of tailored interactions of such ultracold atoms to quantum information processing.
